Fun times for Fcube Dubai. I’m so excited to be chosen as the feature blogger for Aldo’s ‘What inspires your style’ campaign. There is so much about my style and Aldo that blends together so well, I’m thrilled to be part of this collaboration. I attain style inspiration from a variety of sources and those who know me know that I’m a very eclectic personality. Being a regular at Aldo, I often depart with half a dozen bags of shoes and accessories, so to pick one favourite was gruelling!
After 40 minutes of flitting around the store and going through one dilemma after another, I decided to go with the ‘IT‘ trend of the season and pick one out of the many gladiator styles that Aldo has launched this spring.
Would I wear this to the office? Oh hell Ya!
Now a normal reaction would be these aren’t quite day shoes, I say why not? Ditch the stereo type mindset; it really depends on how you rock it and what you do with the overall ensemble. Black, suede, heels, classy, sexy, how can it ever not work?
I’ve worked in a variety of industries from fashion to interior design to F&B and now HVAC! While there is no similarity in any of these work environments, one thing all colleagues and bosses will always admire about you is the vibe you bring into the workplace with your sense of style. Think about it. Irrespective of where you work, all men are appreciative of pretty well dressed women, and female co-workers are always looking for an excuse to start off with “Oh I love your shoes….” And the rest we know.
The best times are often random, right? There are times a night is so good it takes you straight into the next morning. Since this happens to me a lot I’ve started keeping a pair of pants and a blazer in the office to conceal most of the previous night’s sins. While I can’t do much about a skimpy dress or five-inch stilettos, I’ve realized that a versatile bag, that can make a seamless transition from ‘ Wohooo’ to ‘ I’m ready to rock this day’ is the key to keeping the previous night’s mischief a secret. While I may be exhausted, this versatile envelop bag can pull of a double duty with great panache and hold eternal freshness.
The key criterion for any bag to qualify for double duty is the size, and this one absolutely ticks that box. A nifty tan brown, lots of pockets of various sizes, and a pretty tassel to give it a less is more element; Brilliant!! This is one sling done right that looks as correct in a boardroom as in a cocktail lounge.
